Book review : The assassin and the empire by Sarah J. Mass *SPOILERS*

The Assassin and the Empire (Throne of Glass, #0.5)The Assassin and the Empire by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

September 8-11
Celaena Sardothien is the assassin with everything: a place to call her own, the love of handsome Sam, and, best of all, freedom. Yet, she won’t be truly free until she is far away from her old master, Arobynn Hamel; Celaena must take one last daring assignment that will liberate her forever. But having it all, means you have a lot to lose . . .

This fourth fantastic e-novella gives readers an inside look at the characters who appear in the full-length novel Throne of Glass. Don’t miss out!

Review - The last novella broke my heart in pieces this was my favorite I loved Sam and Celaena in this book so cute . Sam and Celaena go to arobyn to get out of the guild so they can leave Celena gives him money. And they get work to kill these terrible people and Aroybyn tries to stop her from doing it cause there that crazy but I don't trust Aroybyn now even more after what he did . Sam goes to kill these guys when Celaena is supose to be packing I knew something bad was going to go down and he was killed yeah I was sobbing at this point I wanted to know who killed him . Celaena goes after the guys who killed Sam but it was a trap and she is sentenced to go to the salt mines I cried the most in the one  I can't  believe  Arobyn  was involed in  killing Sam  ugh  I hate him .   But this my favorite of them all . Now onto throne of glass

Quotes-
“She would tuck Sam into her heart, a bright light for her to take out whenever things were darkest.
And then she would remember how it had felt to be loved, when the world held nothing but possibility. No matter what they did to her, they could never take that away.
She would not break.
And someday ... someday, even it took her until her last breath, she'd find out who had done this to her. To Sam.”
He removed her hand from his cheek to kiss the tips of her fingers.
"

I get scared, too," he murmured onto her skin. "You want to hear something ridiculous? Whenever I'm scared out of my wits, I tell myself: My name is Sam Cortland ... and I will not be afraid. I've been doing it for years."
It was her turn to raise her brows. "And that actually works?"
He laughed onto her fingers. "Sometimes it does, Sometimes it doesn't. But usually it makes me feel better to some degree. Or just makes me laugh at myself a bit.”

But she squared her shoulders. Straightened her spine.

“My name is Celaena Sardothien,” she whispered, “and I will not be afraid.”

Book review : The assassin and the unterworld by Sarah J. Mass *SPOILERS*

The Assassin and the Underworld (Throne of Glass, #0.4)The Assassin and the Underworld by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

September 3-8

When the King of the Assassins gives Celaena Sardothien a special assignment that will help fight slavery in the kingdom, she jumps at the chance to strike a blow against an evil practice. The mission is a dark and deadly affair which takes Celaena from the rooftops of the city to the bottom of the sewer--and she doesn't like what she finds there.

Review - So this one was insane but I loved it I'M SHIPPING SO HARD . So Celaena is back and Arobyn has a new assignment . And she sees that Sam is live and well and they talk and he sees her new scar and is worried and then this new girl lysandra who is a prostitute I hated this girl so much cause she was into Sam and I wanted to punch her and Celaena hates this girl and she has this assignment to take down this guy who wants to take down slaves so she wants to take him down . And she asks Sam to help her . I love Sam and Celaena in this book cause she's defiantly into him cause she's always checking him out which I found funny and she gets taken and trapped in a sewer and I was sobbing even though I knew she wasn't going to die the scene with Sam and her when he was trying to get her out ugh so much . And when they were at that party oh god Sam he's trying to keep her away and she goes up to the guy that she's suppose to kill who is a total sleaze. Sam gets her that music she loved which was so sweet . And when they were back in the sewer he tells her he's leaving for good and she doesn't want him to he ends up telling her he loves her and she kisses him eeeeek oh my god amazing . So they get ready to take down this guy and there is allot we didn't know and I felt was missing when this was going to down so Celaena got the files and she kills the guy but the partner runs and the bodyguard who tried to kill Celaena tells her this guy loved his country and it didn't make sense and it turns out Aroybyn tricked Celeana and this guy was trying to protect the slaves WTF THAT ASSHOLE she paid off her dept and Sam's and she moved out this was a great novella onto the last one .
I loved Sam and Celaena in this one

Quotes-
Please don't go."
He let out an uneven breath. "You'll be fine without me. You always have been."
Maybe once, but not now. "How can I convince you to stay?"
"You can't."
She threw down the torch. "Do you want me to beg, is that it?"
"No-never."
"Then tell me-"
"What more can I say?" he exploded, his whisper rough and harsh "I’ve already told you everything—I’ve already told you that if I stay here, if I have to live with Arobynn, I'll snap his damned neck.”
“But why? Why can’t you let it go?”
He grabbed her shoulders and shook her. “Because I love you!”
Her mouth fell open.
“I love you,” he repeated, shaking her again. “I have for years. And he hurt you and made me watch because he’s always known how I felt, too. But if I asked you to pick, you’d choose Arobynn, and I. Can’t. Take. It.”
The only sounds were their breathing, an uneven beat against the rushing of the sewer river.
“You’re a damned idiot,” she breathed, grabbing the front of his tunic. “You’re a moron and an ass and a damned idiot.” He looked like she had hit him. But she went on, and grasped both sides of his face, "Because I'd pick you."
And then she kissed him.

I hate to admit it , Sam Cortland , but I missed your sorry ass , too.

Book review : The assassin and the desert by Sarah J . Mass * Spoilers*

The Assassin and the Desert (Throne of Glass, #0.3)The Assassin and the Desert by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

August 31-September 3

The Silent Assassins of the Red Desert aren’t much for conversation, and Celaena Sardothien wouldn’t have it any other way. She’s not there to chatter, she’s there to hone her craft as the world’s most feared killer for hire. When the quiet is shattered by forces who want to destroy the Silent Assassins, Celaena must find a way to stop them, or she’ll be lucky to leave the desert alive

Review- This novella wasn't my favorite but I still enjoyed the story Celaena must go to the silent master to train with him and get the letter of approval . When she gets there she meets a girl who is going to be her roommate for a month Ansel I felt something was off about her she has a very dark past but her and Celaena start to become friends .When her and Ansel have to go on a trip they end up steeling horses . The master finally agrees to train her , Celena has been thinking of Sam and how Aroben beat her . At this dance thing that they were having she dances with the masters son and when he was about to kiss her she couldn't do it cause of sam I ship them so bad to bad I know what happens stupid spoilers :( but in the end Ansel turns out to be evil and drugs Celena and she figures it out she ended up killing Mickal and the masters son was inured it comes to a fight to the death and she doesn't kill Ansel she lets her go . The master gives her the letter and some gold to pay off Aroben I hate that guy so much it was a great story onto the next one .
Quotes-
Words could be just as deadly as steel.”

If you can learn to endure pain, you can survive anything. Some people learn to embrace it—to love it. Some endure it through drowning it in sorrow, or by making themselves forget. Others turn it into anger. But Ansel let her pain become hate, and let it consume her until she became something else entirely—a person I don’t think she ever wished to be”

Well, he was certainly desirable-as desirable as Sam, maybe. Sam-when had she ever thought of him as desirable? He'd laugh until he died if ever knew she thought of him like that.

As the memory of that day echoed through her, she remembered the words Sam kept screaming at Arobynn, as the King of the Assassins beat her, the words that she'd somehow forgotten in the fog of pain: I'll kill you! Sam had said it like he meant it. He'd bellowed it, again and again and again...”

Waiting Wednesday

In 1988, when she was fifteen, JJ Johnson was hospitalized for treatment of bulimarexia, a combination of bulimia and anorexia. During her ten-week stay, JJ had to eat everything on her tray, and took classes like "Assertiveness Training," "Depression Management," and "Body Image Workshop." She gained weight, but her path toward health was a constant struggle. In her heart, JJ knew-she knew-that she would be a happy, healthy adult one day.

But how? Instead of a clear path, there was a black abyss. She needed a guide, a mentor, someone who knew her inside and out.

So, one morning, just before weigh-in, JJ closed her eyes and made a deal with herself:

I promise myself that when I'm grown up, and happy, I will come back here, to these months. Healthy me will guide bulimarexic me through this.

This book is that promise, kept.
