Book Review : Impuse by Ellen Hopkins SPOILERS
Impulse by Ellen Hopkins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Verdict : Beautifully written
May 11- June 19
Sometimes you don't wake up. But if you happen to, you know things will never be the same.
Three lives, three different paths to the same destination: Aspen Springs, a psychiatric hospital for those who have attempted the ultimate act -- suicide.
Vanessa is beautiful and smart, but her secrets keep her answering the call of the blade.
Tony, after suffering a painful childhood, can only find peace through pills.
And Conner, outwardly, has the perfect life. But dig a little deeper and find a boy who is in constant battle with his parents, his life, himself.
In one instant each of these young people decided enough was enough. They grabbed the blade, the bottle, the gun -- and tried to end it all. Now they have a second chance, and just maybe, with each other's help, they can find their way to a better life -- but only if they're strong and can fight the demons that brought them here in the first place.
Review : This book was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time it's about 3 people Vanessa , Tony , and Conner who all have been through a lot and find themselves all in mental hospital and all become friends and some more than that . They each all have problems Vanessa is a cutter who tried to kill herself and Conner put a bullet through his chest . Tony had a bad childhood and resorted to pills . I feel a lot of people can relate to this book we've all been through something . Conner has a taste for older woman and slept with his teacher Connors's family has very high exceptions for him he has a fraternal twin sister and a bitch mother . Tony went to Jail awhile ago for punching his mom's boyfriend who use to do things to him . Vanessa likes Conner and there pretty hot and heavy for awhile but what I didn't expect was Tony and vanessa together but I love them together they go to this camping trip so they can complete there time at aspen spring . Conner is going through a lot his family being not supportive pieces of crap . And Tony and Vanessa are all lovey dovey so cute I love them together they care for each other. I thought Tony was gay in the most of the book and so did he but maybe he's Bi . And when they are rock climbing after they get there letters from there family Conner of course got a crappy one from his mom and he got angry and he flung himself off and died I started sobbing cause he went through a lot this book was heartbreaking there are probably a lot of trigger warnings in this book so be warned but as my first Ellen Hopkins book I loved it .
Quotes-
I love you , too Vanessa , and in my life , love is rare . You are rare -someone who bothered to scratch under my skin and find the person beneath.
Hey , Tony , I test . I'll give you a kiss too, if you say please .
You wish , he jabs . But I prefer a man who likes to be on top.
ouch little brother I like it on top and on the bottom and standing up . And ...oh , man I gotta stop or jerk off.
Memory is a tenuous thing , like a rainbow's end or a camera with a failing lens. Sometimes my focus is sharp , every detail clean as the splashes of it either, fringing the evaluation eaves ; other times it's hazy field of frost , like the meadow
My happiest memories have no place in the past; they are those I have yet to create
Her smile is like summer moonlight-beautiful and magical, with a fire that could melt the night
Tony's Kiss
Is like no other kiss, ever.
It wants, but does not demand.
It asks, but doesn't take.
It gives, and pleads for more.
It is filled with desire,
but also curiosity,
and it teaches me that a kiss should
come gift wrapped, not stripped naked. Most of all,
it makes me want another kiss
exactly like this one.”

Book Review : Me before you by Jojo moyes SPOILERS
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Verdict : Beautiful
March 2- June 17
Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has never been farther afield than their tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex-Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair-bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and now he’s pretty sure he cannot live the way he is.
Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own, she sets out to show him that life is still worth living.
A love story for this generation, Me Before You brings to life two people who couldn’t have less in common—a heartbreakingly romantic novel that asks, What do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart

Quotes
You only get one life. It's actually your duty to live it as fully as possible.”
Push yourself. Don't Settle. Just live well. Just LIVE.”
All I can say is that you make me... you make me into someone I couldn't even imagine. You make me happy, even when you're awful. I would rather be with you - even the you that you seem to think is diminished - than with anyone else in the world.”
Hey Clark', he said.'Tell me something good'. I stared out of the window at the bright-blue Swiss sky and I told him a story of two people. Two people who shouldn't have met, and who didn't like each other much when they did, but who found they were the only two people in the world who could possibly have understood each other. And I told him of the adventures they had, the places they had gone, and the things I had seen that I had never expected to. I conjured for him electric skies and iridescent seas and evenings full of laughter and silly jokes. I drew a world for him, a world far from a Swiss industrial estate, a world in which he was still somehow the person he had wanted to be. I drew the world he had created for me, full of wonder and possibility.
“I turned in my seat. Will’s face was in shadow and I couldn’t quite make it out.
‘Just hold on. Just for a minute.’
‘Are you all right?’ I found my gaze dropping towards his chair, afraid some part of him was pinched, or trapped, that I had got something wrong.
‘I’m fine. I just . . . ’
I could see his pale collar, his dark suit jacket a contrast against it.
‘I don’t want to go in just yet. I just want to sit and not have to think about . . . ’ He swallowed.
Even in the half-dark it seemed effortful.
‘I just . . . want to be a man who has been to a concert with a girl in a red dress. Just for a few minutes more.’
I released the door handle.
‘Sure.’
I closed my eyes and lay my head against the headrest, and we sat there together for a while longer, two people lost in remembered music, half hidden in the shadow of a castle on a moonlit hill.”
I kissed him, trying to bring him back. I kissed him and let my lips rest against his so that our breath mingled and the tears from my eyes became salt on his skin, and I told myself that, somewhere, tiny particles of him would become tiny particles of me, ingested, swallowed, alive, perpetual. I wanted to press every bit of me against him. I wanted to will something into him. I wanted to give him every bit of life I felt and force him to live.”
“Sometimes , Clark, you are pretty much the only thing that makes me want to get up in the morning
“You know, you would never have let those breasts so close to me if I weren’t in a wheelchair,’ he murmured.
I looked back at him steadily. ‘You would never have looked at my breasts if you hadn’t been in a wheelchair.’
‘What? Of course I would.’
‘Nope. You would have been far too busy looking at the tall blonde girls with the endless legs and the big hair, the ones who can smell an expense account at forty paces. And anyway, I wouldn’t have been here. I would have been serving the drinks over there. One of the invisibles.’
He blinked.
‘Well? I’m right, aren’t I?’
Will glanced over at the bar, then back at me. ‘Yes. But in my defense, Clark, I was an arse.”

Summary-
From Jay Asher, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Thirteen Reasons Why, comes a romance that will break your heart, but soon have you believing again. . . .
Sierra's family runs a Christmas tree farm in Oregon—it's a bucolic setting for a girl to grow up in, except that every year, they pack up and move to California to set up their Christmas tree lot for the season. So Sierra lives two lives: her life in Oregon and her life at Christmas. And leaving one always means missing the other.
Until this particular Christmas, when Sierra meets Caleb, and one life eclipses the other.
By reputation, Caleb is not your perfect guy: years ago, he made an enormous mistake and has been paying for it ever since. But Sierra sees beyond Caleb's past and becomes determined to help him find forgiveness and, maybe, redemption. As disapproval, misconceptions, and suspicions swirl around them, Caleb and Sierra discover the one thing that transcends all else: true love.
What Light is a love story that's moving and life-affirming and completely unforgettable
